Privacy Policy
Last updated October 13, 2026
This policy applies to apps published by Jacob White, including Winter Snow Globe, Samwise Solitaire, Castanza, Earthquakes, Watch Speedometer, TV Clock, and other apps that link to this page.
Apps have different features, so their use of information differs. The sections below apply when the described features are present in the version you use.
App-specific details
Winter Snow Globe
Tilt and shake input is processed on your iPhone or Apple Watch for animation. The app has no account, advertising SDK, or analytics service. Local preferences and rating-prompt choices remain on the device. The iPhone app downloads a small list of App Store links from jacobwhite.us to keep its “More apps by me” section up to date. This request sends no account, device identifier, location, or usage analytics; the website receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address. The last successful list is saved on your device for offline use. Choosing a link to another app or to this policy opens an Apple service or website, whose handling of a visit is separate from Snow Globe’s local features.
Samwise Solitaire
Games, statistics, settings, and custom card designs are stored on your device. Photos you choose for cards and backgrounds are processed locally. The app does not send these photos to a developer-operated image-processing service. Apple handles optional purchases; the app verifies Apple-signed transactions to unlock purchased features.
Castanza
Subscriptions, playlists, downloads, playback history, settings, chapters, and transcripts are stored on your device. Podcast searches send search terms to Apple’s search service. Feeds, artwork, and audio are requested directly from publishers and their hosting providers. Those providers receive connection information, including your IP address and the requested resource, and may include their own advertising or measurement in feeds or audio.
Speech recognition and chapter generation run on supported devices. Podcast audio is not sent to a developer-operated transcription service. Apple may download models needed for these features. If you enable transcript iCloud sync, completed transcripts are stored in your personal iCloud storage. A legacy random app identifier may remain in the device Keychain; the current app does not transmit it.
The Apple Watch companion exchanges podcast information, artwork, queue contents, and playback commands with your paired iPhone. A connected Apple TV companion exchanges library details, media URLs, theme colors, and listening positions with your iPhone, and streams audio from publishers. Castanza does not require a Castanza account or use a developer-operated sync server. Optional purchases are processed by Apple and verified on your device.
Earthquakes
With your permission, location helps calculate distances and find nearby earthquakes. For earthquake notifications, the app sends a notification device token and alert preferences to the Earthquakes service at photar.net. If Premium location-based alerts are enabled and location is available, registration includes latitude and longitude, which can be precise when you allow precise location. Otherwise it sends zero coordinates. Registration updates communicate changes to alert options.
Saved places, names and coordinates, alert rules, settings, cached earthquake information, and available location are stored locally. App Group storage makes app information available to widgets, and Watch Connectivity shares app data and preferences with your paired Watch. Saved-place alerts are checked on the device when the app refreshes.
Apple supplies map and address-search services. Earthquake information comes from the catalogs you enable, including USGS, EMSC, and GeoNet. Historical searches send the selected area, dates, magnitude, and depth filters to the selected provider.
Where subscriptions use RevenueCat, that service verifies purchase access using purchase and receipt information, subscription status, an app-specific anonymous customer identifier, and technical app and device information. Apple processes payment; the app does not receive your payment-card details. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Watch Speedometer
Location information is used to calculate speed and distance and display your position or route. These calculations take place on your device. Location permission can be changed in system Settings. Where the app displays Apple Maps, Apple provides that service under its own privacy policy.
Device storage, permissions, and Apple services
Apps may save preferences, content you create or import, and cached information locally to provide their features. Device backups and any iCloud features you enable are handled by Apple according to your settings. A permission prompt explains access to protected information such as photos or location; you can manage permissions in system Settings.
Apple processes App Store purchases. Apps receive transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock features. System services, backups, and any diagnostics you choose to share with Apple are governed by your device settings and Apple’s privacy policy.
Network requests, links, and sharing
When an app requests online content or you visit a linked website, the service receives the request and ordinary network information, including your IP address. Its privacy policy governs how it handles that information. External reports, podcast sites, maps, App Store pages, and other linked services may have different practices.
When you export or share content, the destination you choose receives that content. For example, a shared subscription list or transcript excerpt is sent to the app or service you select in the system share sheet.
Your choices and stored information
You can change app permissions in system Settings and use the app’s controls to manage saved content, alert preferences, downloads, and optional sync where available. Removing an app deletes its local app-container data. It does not automatically cancel a subscription, remove data already shared with others, or delete information held by online services. Keychain entries, iCloud data, and device backups may remain; manage those through your Apple Account and device settings.
Local content remains until it is removed through the app, app deletion, or the relevant storage controls. Information held by Apple and other service providers is subject to their retention policies. For questions about information held by developer-operated services, including Earthquakes notification registration, or to request access, correction, or deletion, contact the address below.
